Harvest. Collate. Mix. Master.
How AI-inclusive records get made when the craft is real.
AI is an instrument, not a replacement
The harvest-and-collate methodology treats Suno as a stems generator, Moises as the separator, and Ableton as where the song actually becomes a song. The human is the author: composition, lyric, arrangement, production direction. The PRO standard backs this (ASCAP, BMI, SOCAN partially-AI registration aligned October 28, 2025). The instrument is new; the craft is not.
Harvest
The paste-sheet is the contract: a Style field, a Brackets list, an Excludes list, updated synergistically per generation. Dozens of takes per song. The Many Names EP iteration logs document the version arc that produced each usable gen. Two-plus years of methodology refinement happens before any track ships.
Collate
Moises separates the chosen gen into stems at 48kHz, Hi-Fi quality. Pass A is combined music; Pass B splits drums into six buses. Stems become editable building blocks. The song is now a kit: choice of harvest, choice of cuts, choice of layers.
Mix
Ableton 12, iZotope Neutron 5 on every track, dual Unmask architecture on the music bus to protect vocal and drums from inter-source masking. Sidechain compression tuned in hierarchy: attack first, ratio second, threshold last. DRUM BUS uses the Dynamic Mix Bus Neutron preset to replace EQ + Glue. Gullfoss tested and bypassed on chamber-acoustic material because the Neutron stack already covered the perceptual work. ShaperBox 3 with rhythmic Drive on the hi-hat for the clarity-shine ear-tickle.
Master
Ozone 12 Master Assistant on Indie Pop target. -14 LUFS integrated, -1.5 dBTP true peak. Maximizer in IRC 5 mode. Mid-master MCP verification audit pattern catches unintended deactivations. The mastered file is the deliverable; everything before it is craft, everything after it is distribution.
DDEX voluntary AI disclosure
Every Red Plastic Records release ships with DDEX voluntary AI disclosure in Spotify Song Credits, beta April 2026. Transparent about which stems came from Suno, which arrangement choices were human, which lineage references shaped the work. Disclosure is alignment, not apology.
